Jay Reatard Found Dead at 29

It has been announced today that Jay Reatard passed away in
his sleep last night. He will be surely missed by the indie-rock
community. Apparently he was a lot of fun to be around.

On a brighter note, he did outlive a spot in the 27 Club.
RIP

RIP Les Paul

Les Paul has passed away today at the age of 93. Known as
the man who made rock & roll possible, Les Paul is the guy
behind the creation of the solid body electric guitar- the Gibson Les Paul,
and several innovations in multitrack recording.

He will surely be missed.
A cool picture of Ira Stone and a Gibson Les Paul, below.

Yesterday's News

Unfortunately for pop culture, John Hughes, the film director behind cult classics such as Ferris Bueller's Day off and The Breakfast Club, died quite recently of a heart attack.

MJ+Cardiac Arrest

RIP Michael Jackson.
A legend, great innovator and entertainer.
Although he spiraled downward later in life, he and his music will never be forgotten.

A Virgin Megastory

I went to the Virgin Megastore on 14th Street yesterday. It's closing on Sunday.
There were a lot of gross bargain-hunters. (welcome to New York...)

Paid $13.01 for FOUR cds.
(Mt. St Hellen's Vietnam Band, Razorlight, White Lies + The Present)

Now, for Virgin Megamoments:
A look back at the memorable times had in the Virgin Megastore.

2 / 5th of The Strokes inches away.
& Now it's all gone.

Albert Hammond Jr.

Fab from Little Joy

RIP VM! It was fun while it lasted.
Even though you went out in a kinda depressing way.

Is This Love

Today is the anniversary of Bob Marley's death.
Far from an indie musician, but a huge and dynamic icon nonetheless.
Legend, his greatest hits album, is a must-have.

"You know Bob Marley didn't die of old age!"
